NEW DELHI: Five people from the Telangana Congress IT cell were taken into custody by the cyber crime branch of the state police on Thursday. According to TV reports, arrests were made in connection with the fake video case of Union home minister Amit Shah circulating on social media.The Delhi Police special cell had issued notice to Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur under Section 91 of the CrPC, asking him to present at the cell’s office on May 2 in connection with the doctored video of Shah circulating on social media.Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy and four other leaders were also summoned by Delhi Police in connection to the case.The police officials have informed PTI that they are nearing the identification of the individual responsible for creating the deepfake video.(More details awaited)
