NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has expressed concern over the reports of a woman whose body was cut into pieces and stuffed into a refridgerator in Bengaluru. The NCW has directed the Karnataka police to arrest all accused involved in the murder. ‘NCW has come across a media post titled ‘Woman’s Body Chopped Into 30 Pieces Found Inside Fridge In Bengaluru’ involving the gruesome death of a 26-year-old woman in Vyalikaval.The commission has directed the state police to expedite the arrest of all involved and ensure a thorough, time-bound investigation. A detailed report is expected within 3 days’ stated the National Commission for Women. Earlier, Karnataka home minister G Parameshwara said, “The police have gathered a lot of information and clues. One individual has emerged as a suspect, but we need to collect more information before making any definitive statements. He is reportedly from West Bengal.”The incident was reported when a dismembered body of a woman was found stuffed in the fridge of the house where she had been living, located in Vinayaka Nagar, Vyalikaval, Bengaluru, on September 21.The woman, identified as Mahalakshmi, had been living alone in the rented house for the past five months, according to Shekar H Tekkannavar, deputy commissioner of police, Central Bengaluru.(With agency inputs)
